My 7 weeks off Facebook

  • Started spending my Tuesday lunch time with my Mom, visiting and keeping her bills in order.
  • Made white chicken chili.  Although I added a can of diced tomatoes and it was no longer white.  The Recipe.  I used a can of shoe-peg corn and a can of diced tomatoes.  I’ve made this twice.
  • Started walking!!  Looking forward to when I’ll have time to get new shoes.  I’ve been told exercising is no longer an option, but a necessity because of the fatty liver.
  • Applied for and received my passport.  Doug and I both got our passports.  He’s job may send him to Italy, I wouldn’t go.  But Hey!!  We should go somewhere!!  I told him I was gonna be really mad if my passport expired and I didn’t get to go anywhere.
  • Found Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses.  I needed these for another recipe.  I bought two bags.  I haven’t made them yet.  This is the recipe I’m using.  But I’m open to suggestions.
  • Learned about Kolob.  Look it up.  It has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
  • I had lunch with my friend Diane at Dairy Queen.  It was my suggestion.  I don’t know what I was thinking.  But having lunch somewhere else is a really good excuse for another lunch.
  • Shopped for smaller pants.  Still exercising and watching what I eat.  I’m not perfect, but I’m still trying.
  • Bought pants that were too small.  I forgot the sit test.  Just because you can get them on, doesn’t mean you should buy them.
  • Had a great idea for Doug’s Christmas present.  This evolved from getting our passports.  I’m making a calendar with festivals and such for every weekend.  We won’t do them all, but I would like to do one every other month.
  • The state of Texas decided to resurface Hwy 199 between Azle and Springtown.  There was no need for it and they don’t seem to be in any hurry to get it done.  This has added about 20 minutes to my drive home.  I try not to speculate whether they will do the other side.
  • Lunch with my friend David (twice)!!!  One of my favorite lunch buddies.
  • Had a great idea to mark the event of my sister and I both being 50 for 3 weeks.  It involves hats and other props and a photographer.  Probably outside somewhere.  Photographer suggestions???  A picture of my great-grandmother and her sister was the inspiration.  Click to see the picture.
  • Made a huge chocolate cake that neither Doug nor I actually needed.  We ate it as quickly as possible in order to be done with it.
  • Actually found a decent recipe for salsa.  Its not great, but it ain’t bad.  Salsa Recipe  Mine required more onion and garlic.
  • Because of a book, I spent an hour reading up on Ashmedai.  Funny where books will lead you.  That’s what I like about the Kindle.  When I wonder about something I’m reading, I simply high light it and search it from my Kindle Fire.
  • Laughed and laughed as the thief proved himself to be a bold faced liar to my boss.  It still makes me smile.  Don’t you love it when someone proves themselves to be exactly who you thought they were.
  • Lunch with my friend Emily at McAlister’s Deli.  This may be our go to place for lunch.
  • Watched the first 3 episodes of “Sons of Anarchy” and wondered what the big deal was.  Not impressed at all.  Seemed rather silly.  Maybe its suppose to be a comedy.  What do I know?

  1. This post just made me smile, you need to go to Italy!!! I have been and I loved it, it is a great place to use the new passport. I have a group of ladies that walk at lunch. We walk for 1 hour (4 miles) and I really enjoy being outside and chatting. I hope you can find a walking group as it makes the time / walk go faster.
