Allow me to climb on my soapbox……again.

I have seen the following posted over and over the last couple of days:
Just have to pass this along…. I have so much going on in my life right now… I need a blessing and cant afford to not pay it forward… so here ya go… Hey you…yeah, I mean you. If you have taken a minute to read this… God has seen YOU struggling with something. God says its over. A blessing is coming your way. If you believe in God send this message on, please don’t ignore it, you are being tested. God is going to fix two things (BIG) tonight in your favor. If you believe in God… drop everything and re-post it. I just did. AMEN!!!!
I need prayers so bad right now.!!!! Hope someone cares. If u are my friend click the like button & then re-post. If I don’t see your name, I’ll understand. May I ask my “Facebook Family” wherever u may be to kindly copy, paste and share this status for one hour to give a prayer of support to all those who have family problems, struggles and worries and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us for no-one is immune. I hope to see this on the walls of all my friends just for moral support. I know some will!! I did it for a friend and you can too. Share some faith and love for those in need. Life works in strange ways.
I’m sorry if I offend anyone, but if you reposted this or anything like this, is your god so small and so petty that he requires you to repost this drivel on Facebook?  Asking for prayers or whatever your belief is, is one thing. Especially if you feel lead to request something in that manner.
But when you repost something that says as in the first one: “I have so much going on in my life right now… I need a blessing and cant afford to not pay it forward” it makes me wonder.  Other than the screaming spelling and punctuation errors, it drives me crazy to see you write “I can’t afford to pay it forward.”  What do you mean you can’t afford to pay it forward? Paying it forward does not require money!!  Sometimes all it takes is a moment to “Pay it Forward”.  Plus my other favorite part “If you believe in God, drop everything and repost” and also “you’re being tested”  Really? God uses Facebook to test me.  I think he is testing you, and you have failed.
And as for the second one, will posting something for one hour really help anyone?  After all who doesn’t have “family problems, struggles and worries and just need to know that someone cares.”  How about picking up the telephone and calling someone.  How about even an email.  I think blanketing the facebook feed with this repost is meaningless and really shows just how much people don’t care.
Don’t even get me started on the hoaxes that are posted and reposted over and over and over again.  Also as far as I know there isn’t a national daughters or sons day.  If there is, I don’t think there is more than one a year.  I see these posts all the time time.
If I offended you, sorry.  I’ve got it off my chest and you can go back to posting this silliness.

  1. Tee Hee Hee! I have been guilty of reposting some things. Depending on my mood BUT I totally agree with you on the subject of God. I do not need FB to show my faith.Glad you got it off your chest now SMILE!

  2. I agree with you. However, the post says, "I cant afford to NOT pay it forward." this changes the whole argument. But, I still agree with you, I hate these kinds of posts!!

  3. You are correct Crystal. Considering how many times I read that I'm surprised that got past me. But I have to say reposting isn't in my opinion "paying it forward".
