Donald Trump???? for President??????

thIs Donald Trump for real?  Or is this all just him trying to improve his ratings for “The Apprentice”?  I’m just curious.  I haven’t heard him offer any ideas or even constructive criticisms.  I understand that the American public is tired of the usual politicians.  Lord knows I am!

But its seems to me Trump lives for the sound byte.  I haven’t heard any solutions to the problems we’re facing.  He makes claims that are idiotic.  If someone questions him or disagrees with him, he slams them or ridicules them.  When Jerry Seinfield pulled out of an event being held by Trump’s son. The Donald told Jerry “You should be ashamed of yourself!”  Well excuse me, but I think if you don’t want to align yourself publicly with someone you have the right to do that.  When Robert De Nero stated “It’s crazy. They’re making statements about people that they don’t even back up. Go get the facts before you start saying things about people.” Trump’s response was “I like [De Niro’s] acting, but in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we’re not dealing with Albert Einstein.”  He was unhappy with an article about him in the New York Daily News and claimed they were disloyal.  The Donald states that supposedly they came to him several years ago for “help” and he “saved” them.  When those running the New York Daily News were asked they responded that it was the first that they had heard of it.  In my opinion Donald Trump is a spoiled bully.

ABC’s Amy Bingham pointed out on Thursday, Donald Trump has “built an American empire from Las Vegas to New York, but has sought bankruptcy four times along the way.  The last one completed just two years ago.”  Doug Heller, the executive director of Consumer Watchdog states “Here’s a guy who’s failed so miserably so many times and it’s not as though he had to claw his way back after seven years in credit hell. He just said, ‘OK, this isn’t my problem anymore.’ For him, [bankruptcy has] just been a platform to the next money-making scheme.”

We’ve got real problems here.  Rising gas prices, rising food prices, unemployment is still high and that’s just a few things that need to be fixed.   But in my own unknowledgeable, just your average American trying to make ends meet pea brain, I think we can’t be saved by whoever is in the White House.  Our problems are in the senate and the house of representatives.  Those people are elected there and will die there.  Their pockets are lined by the lobbyist who are bought and paid for by big business.  In my opinion big business is who runs this country and they will continue to run it until we have term limits for our congressmen and senators.  I wouldn’t hold my breath for that to happen.  It can only be done with a constitutional admendment.

Article V of the Constitution prescribes how an amendment can become a part of the Constitution. While there are two ways, only one has ever been used. All 27 Amendments have been ratified after two-thirds of the House and Senate approve of the proposal and send it to the states for a vote. Then, three-fourths of the states must affirm the proposed Amendment.

The other method of passing an amendment requires a Constitutional Convention to be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States. That Convention can propose as many amendments as it deems necessary. Those amendments must be approved by three-fourths of the states.

In other words our senators and representatives would have to first decided that “they”should have term limits.  So I don’t see that happening any time soon.  I don’t care if you’re a Democrat, Republican, Independent, Tea Party, Green Party, or what ever.  No one should be in any elected position more than two terms.  If they knew their time was limited I believe they would work harder to pass things that really mattered.

All of the above are just my opinions and we all know what they say about opinions.
